Who publishes naplespompeii.com
The contact page names the publisher as Bio Web Design B.V., a company registered in the Netherlands and based in Breda. The footer links to a family of guides from the same publisher: romesite.com, florencetips.com, milantips.com, venicelover.com, athenslover.com, edinburghtips.com, sevillecityguide.com, ticketshop.barcelona and Naples guides in other languages (napelsgids.nl, neapeltipps.de, visiternaples.fr).
There is nothing unusual about this: it is a digital publisher producing city guides on one model. Knowing who writes it, though, helps you read the content for what it is: a commercial guide, not an institutional source.
How it earns: declared affiliate links
naplespompeii.com sells nothing. It earns when a reader books through its links, and it says so in the footer: the guide contains affiliate links that help the website monetise. The partners it lists include Tiqets, GetYourGuide, Booking.com, Welcome Pickups, Direct Ferries, Discover Cars and several other affiliate programmes and networks.

Its most prominent recommendations link to Tiqets (Naples passes and city cards, a Napoli Sotterranea visit, a Vesuvius + Pompeii trip with transfer) and to GetYourGuide (the street food walking tour, a Pompeii + Vesuvius trip, an Amalfi Coast excursion). The GetYourGuide street food tour, for example, scores 4.9 from more than 5,800 reviews.
Two caveats. First, the Napoli Sotterranea visit it recommends is a different Tiqets product from the one on our Napoli Sotterranea page, so price, supplier and terms may differ. Second, the site calls itself the “N°1” Naples guide and shows a 4.8 rating on its homepage based on 18 reviews it collected itself. These are self-descriptions, not independent ratings.
Pompeii tickets: the official channel and prices
Given the site’s name, it is worth recapping how official tickets for the ruins work. On its own site, the Pompeii Archaeological Park sends online buyers only to Vivaticket; otherwise there are the ticket offices at the entrances. The official prices:
- €20: the ancient city only.
- €25: the ancient city, the suburban villas (including the Villa of the Mysteries), Villa Regina at Boscoreale and the shuttle.
- €30: all of the above plus Oplontis, the Stabiae villas and the Stabiae museum, valid for 3 days.
- €2 for EU citizens aged 18 to 24; free on the first Sunday of every month.
Tickets carry your name, and there is a cap of 20,000 visitors a day: once it is reached, no more tickets are sold, online or at the gate. Package tour or DIY for Pompeii
Many links on affiliate guides, this one included, lead to day trips with a transfer from Naples. They make sense if you want the guide and the logistics sorted. If you just want to get in, doing it yourself costs less: the Circumvesuviana from Naples to Pompei Scavi – Villa dei Misteri, next to the Porta Marina entrance, on a train ticket costing a few euros (check the fare at the ticket office or in the EAV app), plus the official entry ticket. A taxi from Naples has a fixed fare of €70. Add it up and compare with the package price: the difference is what you pay for the guide and the convenience.

naplespompeii.com is an affiliate guide that is open about its model: it states clearly that it sells no tickets and earns through its links. It can be useful for getting a feel for passes, trips and combinations between Naples and Pompeii. Bear in mind, though, that “N°1” and the homepage rating are self-descriptions, and that before buying it is always worth comparing with the official price and reading the cancellation terms on whichever platform you end up on.
