Tiqets in Naples: a review of the ticket platform

Who Tiqets is and what it sells in Naples

Tiqets was founded in Amsterdam in 2014 and is run by Tiqets International B.V. It sells tickets for museums, archaeological sites, guided tours and day trips, delivered as a code on your phone.

The Naples range is broad: around twenty museums, dozens of historic and archaeological sites, and trips to Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast and the islands. For the main sights in the centre there is almost always a Tiqets product.

Tiqets prices in Naples: when they match the official price and when they don’t

The useful question is not “is Tiqets more expensive?” but “what am I actually buying?”.

• Same price: the Catacombs of San Gennaro at €13, the Bourbon Tunnel Standard route at €15, the sightseeing bus from €27. Napoli Sotterranea at €18 costs the same as the full walk-up fare and includes skip-the-line.
• More expensive, but with a guide: the Sansevero Chapel with a guided tour from €16.65, against €15 for the official unguided ticket bought online (list price €12).
• Simply more expensive: the MANN at €24 against €20 on the official channel, which charges no booking fee; Pompeii from €27.50 against €20 (ancient city only) or €25 (with the suburban villas); Herculaneum from €19.50 against €17.50 online through the official seller.

At the MANN the extra €4 buys something real: free cancellation and date changes. At Pompeii the difference is harder to justify. Note that from 1 January 2027 the Park is moving to a single €25 ticket covering all its sites.

Cancellations and refunds: read this before you pay

Tiqets’ general terms are clear: a ticket can be cancelled only if the product page says so, and the EU 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to leisure services booked for a specific date.

In Naples you will meet three situations:

• Refundable only with the flexible option. For Napoli Sotterranea, the Sansevero Chapel and Pompeii the basic ticket is non-refundable. To be able to cancel until 23:59 the day before, you have to pick the paid “refundable ticket” at checkout. Date changes are not offered.
• Free cancellation included. The MANN (with date changes too), the catacombs (up to 24 hours before), the Bourbon Tunnel.
• Non-refundable. The €38 street food tour.

For comparison, the official online tickets for Napoli Sotterranea and Sansevero cannot be refunded or changed either.

Who actually runs the visit: the suppliers

Every Tiqets page names the supplier, meaning whoever actually runs the visit. The Sansevero Chapel guided tours are run by inStazione and Askos, two private operators, not by the museum. For Pompeii the page lists several suppliers (Around Vesuvio, Vox City, inStazione). For the MANN, by contrast, Tiqets resells the ticket itself: you show the code at the ticket desk and enter in the first available time slot.

For Napoli Sotterranea the named supplier is Naples Underground SRL, a company separate from the Associazione Napoli Sotterranea, which runs the route at Piazza San Gaetano. We have not been able to confirm how the two are related. The association says that tours starting from any entrance other than its own are not run by it, so before you book, check the meeting point on the voucher or ask customer service.

What travellers say

On Trustpilot Tiqets scores 4.3 out of 5 from more than 61,000 reviews: three in four give 5 stars, 7% give one. The app scores 4.7 on the Italian App Store. The praise is for easy checkout, phone tickets that work and good audio guides.

The complaints focus on slow customer service, skip-the-line entry that turned out not to skip anything, missing barcodes, and refunds refused even for booking mistakes reported within minutes. Scores for individual Naples products range from excellent (4.7 for the catacombs, from almost 1,800 reviews) to mediocre: the Pompeii ticket sits at 3.6.

• Tickets on your phone, nothing to print.
• The real supplier is always named on the page.
• Free cancellation included on some products, such as the MANN.

Cons

• The MANN, Pompeii and Herculaneum cost more than through the official channel.
• Several tickets are non-refundable without the paid option, and date changes are usually excluded.
• A smaller choice of walking and food tours than GetYourGuide.
• Some reviewers find customer service slow.

For the catacombs, the Bourbon Tunnel and Napoli Sotterranea, Tiqets is a sensible choice: same price, ticket on your phone and, at the Sotterranea, no queue. For the Sansevero Chapel it is worth it if you want a guide. At the MANN you pay €4 more for free cancellation; decide whether you need it. For Pompeii, unless you want a guide, buy through the Park’s official channel.
