Who NaplesBay Tour is, and what it is not

Behind the brand is Bay of Sun S.r.l. (VAT no. 10335581210), which describes itself as a DMC and tour operator for Naples, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. It is a private business that designs and sells its own tours: it is not a tourist information office, has no public mandate and is not the official channel for any attraction.

On Tripadvisor it appears as “Naplesbay Tour”. Do not confuse it with a similarly named page, “Naples Bay Tours – Guided tours in the Bay of Naples”, which is a different business.

What NaplesBay Tour sells, and for how much

“From” prices published on the official website:

• Pompeii from Naples with minibus, skip-the-line entry and about 2 hours of guiding: €74.
• Pompeii and Vesuvius day trip, 7 hours with a lunch break: €125.
• Capri day trip, return hydrofoil and a 1.5-hour boat tour stopping at the Blue Grotto: €94.
• Amalfi Coast by minivan, 8 hours across Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi: €90.
• Spanish Quarter street-art walk: €23.
• Pizza classes: €49–74; pizza plus tiramisù or gelato: €65.

The range also includes boat trips, private tours, multi-day packages and transfers.

How much more than doing it yourself

An organised tour always costs more than the same trip done independently; the question is whether the service is worth the difference.

• Pompeii: on your own you pay for the Circumvesuviana train and the official €20 entry. With NaplesBay (€74) you add a minibus from Naples and a guide.
• Capri: the hydrofoil costs roughly €22–31 each way, plus the island’s landing fee. The €94 package also covers the boat tour, which you would otherwise pay for separately.
• Amalfi Coast: outside summer there are no direct hydrofoils from Naples, and a fixed-fare taxi to Amalfi costs €155 per car, one way. Here the €90-per-person minivan makes a lot of sense.

How to book, and what to check

You can book directly at naplesbay.it, by phone or by email, or through GetYourGuide and Turbopass, which advertises a 15% discount. Before you pay, always check:

• the cancellation terms for that specific experience (on GetYourGuide, those shown on the product page apply, often free up to 24 hours ahead);
• what is included: entry tickets, the Blue Grotto, lunch, the meeting point;
• the guide’s language: the company says it has guides in Italian, English, French, Spanish and German.

Reviews: what customers say

NaplesBay says it hosts more than 600 guests a day, has over 20,000 reviews with more than 90% at five stars, holds a Tripadvisor “Best of the Best” award, and runs its own fleet of Mercedes Sprinter minivans and a 250 m² cooking workshop in the historic centre. These figures come from the company, as does the 4.9 shown on its own website: we have no verified aggregate score to report.

Tripadvisor reviews return to a few themes: friendly instructors and good food at the pizza classes, skilled drivers on narrow roads and knowledgeable guides on the minivan tours. One reviewer found a walking tour more anecdotal than in-depth.

Our verdict on NaplesBay Tour

Pros: a wide, clear range, direct prices that are sometimes lower than on platforms, and useful minivan tours for the Amalfi Coast. Cons: for Pompeii, going independently is far cheaper; many reputation figures are self-reported; cancellation terms need checking case by case.
